Jersey can get pretty humid and muggy in July and I hate it lol. I think since it's our honeymoon we may splurge on cab rides or a car.
Splurge on the cab. You don't want to rent a car and deal with all the hassles that entails (paperwork, navigating the streets in town, liability concerns, parking, refueling at the corrupt Pemex stations) just for doing that drive back and forth. Split the difference. Cab to the restaurant so you're still nice and dry when you get there, then walk off dinner after when it's cooled down some.

That sounds like a good idea. Cab it there (because we've probably just napped for 4 hours and are STARVING haha) and then walk back to BA once it's cooled down. I'm guessing walking around in town isn't an issue?

I agree, I used to rent.....no longer. Too much hassle/risk etc.

Town is totally safe to walk around in.

Oh I'm used to the cobblestone and cracked Philly streets. I'm pretty much a professional hahaha
Trust me, municipal liability is much less in Mexico than in the U.S. where tripping on an uneven sidewalk could mean a lucrative payoff for someone who wanted to sue.

I spent a few weeks in Cuernavaca back in my college days, living with a family in a Spanish immersion setting (while attending Centro Bilingue - highly recommended!), and I recall one day I was walking to school daydreaming and at the last moment fortunately woke myself up just before stepping into a 6-foot deep pit. Cozumel isn't that bad by any means, but it's a good idea to increase one's personal awareness and responsibility levels when in a third-world country where the municipalities aren't as fearful of litigation. Unfortunately that can be hard to reconcile with the potent margaritas!

Will be staying at Blue Angel with my son and diving with BA, June 29th to July 6th. So we're in for both June and July :D
