Wow!!
In wreck diving, we just don't talk to each other when we get our panties in a bunch.
News Release, NACD Instructor Standards Violation.
Rick where I appreciate the NACD desire to use social media more, but as a member can we request that items like this appear on your web site. #1 accounts can be hacked, and info posted on your behalf #2 and FWIW you may get some negative feedback from members that don't use social media that an announcement of this importance wasn't made available to them via the NACD web site. Only mention this because I hate to see any negative comments of any of the agencies, when I think their great job is lost is the signal to noise ratio of the forums.
And that achieves what exactly? I live on the other side of the pond and have no interest in these matters. However it is encouraging to see that the organization is taking training standard seriously and are willing to take the necessary steps in bettering the community.
Around here we also don't talk to each other and the conflict between parties only escalate while diving standard keep plummeting. The diving industry is in serious trouble due to global financial constraints and those left are a trying to survive by trying to make a quick few bucks. The standard of instructors are pathetic, this is a blanket statement and my apologies to all the great instructors out there.
During my cave training the instructor signed-off on students that can't even reach their valves (BM), did not have the proper fin techniques, seriously struggled with linework and could not perform no-mask OOA swims to name a few. Yet they are certified as cave divers.
Diving standards across the globe in general are in dire straits and needs to get fixed. Nice to see some communities trying at least.
So, Larry wants to be TD again?
