We'll be diving in Cozumel this year, during which I will propose to my girlfriend. I'm toying with the idea of hiring someone to video the event for us. What sort of price should I be paying for a pro to get in the water with us and his camera?

In October in the Aldora Diver's villa.

Call up the Aldora folks. They may have a contact. It would surprise me if they didn't. Their customer service is amazing.

When are you in Aldora? I think our trips may overlap we are there Oct 3-11. I'm not a pro but I usually haul the gopro and I have stayed at a Holiday Inn.

The last two times I had a pro videographer film my family's dives they were in the $100 range (and in Cozumel for that matter) and were arranged through the dive shop. You will need to coordinate with the video guy on this because they often kick off and film some of the surrounding sealife before catching back up with the divers. You'd hate to be fixing to pull the trigger and wondering where the video guy is. Hopefully congratulations are in order.

Yes, our trips do overlap! We arrive a little before you and leave somewhere halfway through your trip. Hopefully we can catch up!

The reason for the question is that Aldora priced this at $200 which seems really expensive! Do I have much choice?

It depends on what the $200 includes. For that much I would expect a dvd or flashdrive with the finished video AND all of the raw footage.
