Actually there is Misconduct charters and DH Scuba. With DH scuba, you have to charter the whole 6-pack boat, but still a good option for a small group.

Thx! I always forget about those two because I’m never in a position to charter an entire six pack. Six packs just don’t work for my kind of diving (solo or with one buddy at most).

Do you mean to tell me the SFDHQ operator chose money over safety ? I am shocked I tell you.
This is what I am having trouble understanding. Boats have mechanical issues on occasion. The operator gave them the choice of a refund or a spot on a different boat, which not surprisingly, was crowded (given that two trips were combined)

I'm not sure what the OP would have expected.

Bear in mind, I don't know if this shop has a habit of poorly maintained boats and so on, but if they do, then it might have been better to book a different shop.

I'm not sure it's fair to say they "chose money over safety". What was unsafe? Crowded isn't unsafe, it's just inconvenient. "Unsafe" would have been setting out on a boat that was having mechanical issues.

My observation from a long way away is that the operator responded to an unforeseen mechanical problem in the only way they could... refund or a different boat. What else could they do?

Admittedly, perhaps some more preventative medicine might have avoided the problem altogether, but salt water does kinda eat stuff.

Aqua Life will be who I call first to go diving.

I encourage you to look for some reviews on them as well. I went out with them once. Once was enough.

I used to dive Pompano all the time with PDC, but given the state of the operators there currently, all my diving these days is up in Palm Beach County.

..Are their pirates there also.
Nope,,,,,Pirates Obsession is located in West Palm Beach and run by Black Flag Charters>>Which is a very good operation.. Have we confused you yet , lol ??

This Pompano sounds like a crazy area. Are their pirates there also.
I am not sure I like the way Misconduct charters sounds either. Do you think they could have come up with a better name ?
I can't charter a 6 pack, so that eliminates DH scuba also.
Maybe I can find a fishing trawler to take me out and pick me up on their way back in. LOL.
Stay away from Pompano definitely a crazy place and it is full.

Yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat; it's usually hard for me to charter the whole 6-pack. I did charter with DH scuba a couple of days. Got blown out, so I didn't actually dive with them. Capt. Kenny was super nice and communicative, so it left a really good impression. It's been a couple of years since I dove with Misconduct, but at the time, they sold my buddy and I individual seats and ran with just two of us.

They sunk the smaller boat earlier this year and then raised it a couple days later. Did the corrosion occur on replaced wiring or on original wiring? Which one speaks to excellent maintenance protocols?

Yeah, trying to get on SFDH boats is a bit nuts now. They've got three boats. On a busy day, when loading all three boats, it means maybe 70+ divers trying to load at the dock. It's kind of a nuthouse AND, the public parking lot across the street is starting to fill up, so even just parking is becoming more difficult. For this and other reasons, I've pretty much given up on trying to dive there.

Can't speak to rational on the "Misconduct" name. Capt. Conrad does/did sell individual seats on his boat and makes pickup at the public ramp easy. He doesn't have a DM, so you're kind of on your own to get on and off the boat, but we didn't have any complaints.

Well, you certainly weren't kidding around. Now that Mergolhador informed us that ScubaTyme was bought out by SFDHQ, that means the only option for me will be Aqua Life. I'm ok with that.
Talk about limited options. :banghead:
Before counting it out, I believe Jimmy is still the Captain of ScubaTyme.
