I was told recently by a person who is an "in" person with Huish that the metal parts are all made in-house.
That’s interesting. I wasn’t aware of that.

I really didn’t think there was enough volume, but I guess with Atomic and Zeagle being under one roof, it makes sense for them.

The irony here is that the regs that were consistently screwed up by service techs were my ScubaPro regs. Now that isn't ScubaPro's fault, but if servicing my own regs requires me to have some backchannel connection to get parts, that is a non-starter for me. I get ScubaPro tries to have tight relationships with shops, but there are other options that don't have this hindrance.
www.Scubagaskets.com, an outfit out of Cyprus, of all places, now offers a variety of aftermarket ScubaPro service kits -- and many other brands from Atomic to Zeagle; so too spare parts -- and while I have yet to use them, know of more than a few folks, especially in the EU, who swear by them . . .

This doesn't help:

With more than 560 different products, and our global shipping policy we believe that we provide a valuable service to any scuba diving center or scuba dive related professional globally.!

Just for kicks, I placed a kit in a "shopping cart" and there were absolutely no questions -- aside from shipping preferences -- about any certification, or shop affiliation.

"We believe that we provide a valuable service to any scuba diving center or scuba dive related professional globally," is simply a sales pitch, attempting to put lipstick on an aftermarket pig, just for relevancy sake.

I don't care what they believe . . .

They ship to individuals. No need to have a vat number or be a registered dive shop as far as I can see.

I'm curious, and I know people will say it isn't rocket science, but what regulator manufacturers have training available for anyone that wants to service their regs? Deep 6 and HOG are known. Who else?

Poseidon for one, would rather have you affiliated with a shop; so I wrote "Akbar and Jeff's Scuba Hut” on the application one year and that passed through the formidable gauntlet of Swedish scrutiny; that, and my check cleared . . .

Name some good regulators that use diaphragm 1st stages
current models that parts are readily available for and probably will be for a long time.

I'm not so interested in the most super high end stuff.... but like durable and reliable.....don't care about bells and whistles either.... Simple works for me. just recreational diving, reasonable or even low budget

I'm getting the feeling that parts for my old US divers SEA/micra regulator might be getting harder to come by.... and I'm not so sure that a lot of what's around might be after market stuff that may or may not be a great fit.
I have had no complaints with this regulator but it's getting long in the tooth I suppose.

I'm a fan of the diaphragm 1st stage. Seems less likely to wear and corrode....especially a sealed one. and they are easy to work on. So just curious to get up to speed on the options I might consider
