Tom. I have zero experience scrubbing hulls but I enjoyed your post. And yes I would definitely count that as a dive. Especially given this recent sobbering event close to home. If it counts as a dive accident it can definitely count as a logged dive.

I entertained doing this on the side until I started cleaning my own boat.
27' Cal. I had it moored pretty close to the inlet in Ft. Pierce in an obvious no wake zone. Plenty of a-holes flying by, boat rolling etc while underneath. Next time I wore a diy helmet with light. Saved my mellon.
Further cleanings down the road, I decided to change the screw. Fun. A little later, I noticed de-lamination on the spade rudder. Hmm, I can drop that were it sits. More fun. Even funner to re-install. Garage is still a mess from that project.
Even further down the road, put a for sale sign on it.
Boat gone now and smiling.

These dives count.
