    The Living Seas

Greetings All: Do they let you wear your own gear when you dive it, or do they make you put on their crap? At the least, I imagine they discourage you wearing a dive knife, haha....

How Rough Is Too Rough? (uhm...)

Greetings: Yeah, my instructor said in the 18 years he's been diving Boynton Beach, this was only the 2nd time he's seen a HammerHead. I felt very very fortunate =) And I got to see a nice sized Nurse Shark the time before. I think sharks just like me =) Uhm, on second thought, that...

When do you use a Divemaster (11/9/03)

Geeze. I wouldn't let someone with this type of attitude on my boat, PERIOD. Granted, I'm a new diver, but I've had the great opportunity to be diving with very experienced divers (5,000+ dives). They all seem to welcome the presence of a DM, at the very least to help make sure everyone's...

How Rough Is Too Rough? (uhm...)

Greetings: Yeah, I hadn't taken anything for motion sickness this time. I had taken triptone and bonine in the past, and both tend to make me VERY sleepy on the 3 hour ride home from Boynton Beach (and it's usually dark by the time I get 1/2 way home). Has anyone tried those watches that...

How Rough Is Too Rough? (uhm...)

Greetings: The 6' estimate came from my instructor, not from me. Not sure how good he is at estimating such things... I probably would say the damn things looked close to 50', haha. BTW: I shouldn't really say the boat was "small", it was a 34'. The group I'm used to using down...

How Rough Is Too Rough? (uhm...)

Greetings All: Well, I'm officially Enriched Air Nitrox certified, woohoo! However, the process wasn't without a great deal of agony..... We went to the dive boat yesterday. It's a new group that the dive shop I go to for my training is using. Its boat is a LOT smaller than the...

    Boynton Beach Dive

Greetings: Has anyone else ever dove off of Boynton Beach? I have 4 dives there now, and it's AMAZING. The reefs are incredible. My first time down, I saw a massive 5' logger head, a good 6' nurse shark, a half dozen morrays, and of course thousands of fish, corals, and huge barrel...

    Venice Beach Dive

Greetings: ReefGuy (aka Jeff), nice meeting, and almost diving with, you too. Went over to take a look at Casperson at Brad's request, and it was a mess there too. Gear stayed in the trunk! Sooo, I spent some time on the beach (felt like I had to, after driving 2.5 hours down). Ended up...

    Slap Strap

Yeah, I didn't like the one with the velcro straps. I like the "mask strap cover" that I'm using now, that fits over the existing strap. VERY nice, I highly recommend it :)

    Uhm, Take A Hint

Greetings All: OK, hit by lightning once while playing the role of Jesus, coincidence. Hit by lightning twice while playing the role Jesus? Hrm..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3209223.stm

Greetings: Wow, I can't thank dandydon enough for posting that list. As a new OW, it sure is coming in handy. I have it printed out, and will keep it next to me as my "ScubaBoard Reference Card", haha.

    Unsure of what to do?

Hrm, I wonder if I can find a college that works the same way this LDS does. I've always wanted a master's degree in astrophysics, or maybe a doctorate in molecular biology?

    Venice Beach Dive

Yeah, "do". I mean, do you throw them all in a jar and set them on your desk, make aborigine looking masks or ritualistic weapons out of them, or what? Maybe I've finally found a way to make millions from e-bay!

    Venice Beach Dive

Greetings: Thanks for the dive report, I appreciate it. Over 350 teeth, WOW. I'm going to need a bigger collection bag, haha. What do you do with all of those teeth?

    Possible inner ear problems??

Greetings: I had similar problems my first few times diving too. I went to an ENT, who cleared some wax out of my ears. Ever since, i've had ZERO problems. He also recommended to just practice equalizing a couple of times a day, to help keep the 'ol tubes open and free flowing...
