If you could only make one boat dive in Bonaire...?

Town Pier night dive. It's been several years since I have been there, but I am fairly sure that Town pier is a boat dive and if you go at night then there is usually fantastic macro life (seahorses, frogfish) to check out.

Dive report 5/31 - with Lake Travis Scuba

This was my first dive with Robert and Lake Travis Scuba and I have to say that it was an excellent trip! There were only 3 divers on board for the AM run (me, my dad, and Kyle who was in town on business from Canada). Our first dive was at the old scuba park. Robert briefed us on the site...

    We must be crazy...

We spent a week in Bonaire in Sept 06 and everything was great! I believe that is around the coral spawning time too, which is why we went at that time. We didn't see mass coral spawning though, but the diving is incredible.

    Bonaire Dive logistics

It was my experience in Bonaire that you simply left the gear bags and save a dive kits in the truck. Nothing happened to anybody in our group. Just take only as much gear as you are going to need for the dives. We regularly carried a cooler with drinks and snacks as well. I think that...

    Questions about wearing a BP/W w/o a wetsuit

I dive the local lake during summer months with no wetsuit. I have a DR AL plate and a hog harness. No problems for me even with a small walk to get down to the water. I also dove Bonaire without a wetsuit and all was good. Sure, if there is a bit of a walk then the straps can dig a...

    small weight trim pockets

XS Scuba makes some nice pouches that will do what you are wanting. I have 2 of them. They hang on my tank bands on either side of the tank. They do the job, are simple and inexpensive. Model WB101 is the single weight pocket and it holds hard or soft weight without issue...

    Lake Travis Thanksgiving weekend

My dad and I are planning on Mansfield that Friday morning. We are hoping to get out there early and get a couple of dives so that we can get back home for the majority of the A&M game. Can anyone confirm that Mansfied will be open on Friday? I was not able to locate a working # for them.

    Bonaire Bound

I took that same flight just 2 weeks ago and the flight is nice since it's a straight shot. I did get some sleep so when we arrived I was fairly fresh. We stayed at Buddy Dive and the "check out" dive is self administered and on the honor system. It's a chance to do a weight check and make...

    Comfort of a BP/W?

I started off diving a scubapro blue stab jacket just over a year ago. It was a hand-me down so the price was right. It did its job underwater, but I couldn't wait to purchase my first BCD. I did quite a bit of reading and looking around at shops and I ended up with the DiveRite Transpac. It...

    NadMat....the newest Swamper!

It was great to meet another local diver! It was great diving with you Matt and I look forward to it again. As long as you can excuse the compass dyslexia, I think we had an excellent dive :)

Looking for a dive buddy in Austin

There are normally fellow swampers looking to get wet. As far as a regular buddy goes, what kind of schedule do you have and where in town are you located? When would your ideal time to dive be (after work hours during the week/weekends only)? I am going to make a serious attempt to...

Twin Lakes or 288 Lake this Sunday?

I believe it used to go by the name Tiki Lake and it is close to Twin Lakes. It's under new management and has supposedly gotten a face lift.

Twin Lakes or 288 Lake this Sunday?

I thought I recalled someone posting about it being open to divers, but I can follow up on that. Would you be game if it's open?

Just got my new bp/w in the mail today

Congrats on the new rig! I just completed rigging my "new" AL BP tonight and will be giving it a test dive this Sunday in a mud hole. I also received my XSScuba pockets today and look forward to seeing how it all works as a system.
