Would Manila be that much beter weather wise? I am still open on ideas. And yes we are macro lovers - but honestly we just love to dive and since we are relatively in experienced it doesn't take as much to make us happy.

Yep it is expensive in FP!! I have been to the following islands:
Tahiti
Moorea
Bora bora
Huahine
Tahaa
Raitaia
Rangiroa
Rarotonga
Nuka Hive
Hiva Oa
For diivng definitly Rangiora! try and dive the pass- fabulous! we also dove on Bora Bora and Moorea - both nice and we got to see...
We dove with Top-dive as well. We were realllly inexperienced at the time and were diving off the Tahitian Princess (on our honeymoon) But my memories are still better in moorea than any of the caribbean diving I have done since.
Also TD was great safety wise!!!! - we let them know up front...
Hi there fellow CT resident :) Myself and Husband live right next door in cheshire and are fairly new divers our selves. I must admit we did our OW cert dives at stonington point and can't say you are missing much :) LOL But then that was the first weekend of May and it was COLD! and WINDY! heh...
Something else that hasn't been mentioned that has helped my husband is doing more cardio work outs. My husband is 6'1" and roughly 250. He is one solid muscle since he works out so much. Anyway he goes thru more than twice the air I do - 5'5" 150lbs. anyway along with what everyone has said...
