For the discussion on tipping, i guess most of the instructor and DM's are not expecting tips so it will really be up to the individual customer whether to tip or not.
What i would like to clarify, at least in the context of where i stay and dive, is that we instructor are not paid fixed...

Just wondering whether anyone here knows where i can get my hands on a suunto D9 screen protector.
Cant seem to find it here in singapore and the Stinger one will not work due to the difference in wrist strap.

Guess you forget that the more you dive, the better you become. So the better trim could be due to the dives he clocked during the trip.......instead of the equipment....

What he means is that dive gears usually cost a bomb to purchase.
Back to the topic. If you intend to travel a lot. It will be better to get the named brands like Scuba Pro (as an example and the parts are mroe readily available for it) for ease of repair or finding replacement parts...
I have personally seen first stage fail underwater. The point of failure is the high pressure seat in the first stage.
This can happen to a lot of used/ rental/ unserviced reg. Which makes sense to us that dives a lot to get it serviced every year.

Your BCD is definitely leaking and i wont suggest you use it till you either get it serviced or patched.
IF your BCD is still under warranty and you are not the kind that fix thing yourself, send it in for a check. I send mine in and they fixed it for no charges when there a leak in my BCD...
Titan triggers are a common sight in Pulau Tioman,Malaysia. where i go diving almost every weekend. They are very aggrressive during breeding season. When out of season, they are usually quite safe.
The worst result of titan trigger attack i saw is a 7 stitch on the forehead of a fellow DM...
There will always be a little water in your BC and it is not dangerous. They can come in via your inflator when you deflate or your dump valve or even when you oral inflate after you surface from a dive( still in water).
It will still be ok unless you discover a lot of water in your BCS...
