    Cruising Gear and more

If you decide to dive in St. Thomas with Admiralty or Blue Island, you won't need your pony bottle or much of anything else, safety wise. Both are well prepared for it. A pony bottle is always hung on the decent line at 15 feet. The diving there is a little known secret and safety is always top...

    St. Thomas Diving Operator Question

Which ship are you cruising on? In March, there could be 4-5 ships in at one time so traffic to the east end of the island could be a nightmare. You'll spend most your "island" time in a taxi or other means of transporation. Admiralty and Blue Island are the nearest to both cruise ship docks and...

Help w/dive trip for one diver, one nondiver

Why not the USVI's?? For a nice resort on the beach look into Best Western Emerald Beach. The dive sites (over 100 of them) on the north side are a 10 to 30 minute boat ride away. Alot of wrecks and beautiful reefs!

Lionfish... threat, menace, or just something new to amuse you while diving ?

I LOVE what Cozumel is attempting, and belive it's the best choice of action. Groupers are known to eat lionfish, but in the Virgin Islands, they don't know it YET. Presently, we are supporting an organization known as CORE, (Caribbean Oceanic Restoration and Education) and professionally and...

    Usvi

St. Thomas and St. Croix are both excellent dive destinations! St. Croix has a few wrecks, but is best known for their wall, which St. Thomas does not have. Divers from St. Thomas go there to just dive that! St. Thomas has ALOT of wrecks and beautiful reefs. Either way, you can't go wrong!!

    Lionfish in BVI

Rhone Man - I think your best defense is to capture and destroy them. We spear them on St. Thomas. My captain, Fishbutt, is the coordinator for St. Thomas and has been working dilegently on organizing hunts, educating and training all of our dive shops. I could help you if you'd like. This...

Best Scuba Places for Next Cruise

Hey Laurie, I've used mine several times now. I got so when I go back to the states, I can buy things we can't get on the islands. With a 50 lb limit, this bag holds alot!! It's made pretty good and I've got no complaints (yet). Speaking of the gentle handling of baggage, have you seen the...

Best Scuba Places for Next Cruise

Definately St. Thomas is the place to dive, which is a little unknown secret except to those who have dove there. On the south south/west side of the island there are many wrecks and beautiful reefs with a large variety of corals and fish. As another shop owner said, these sites are the least...

    Referral Dives on St. Thomas

Coki is much cheaper because they do all shore dives. The other dive centers do their dives in the open water from a boat, maximizing the experience.

On St.Thomas till Jan 4th, anybody want to go diving?

Hi Scuba Collin! The US Virgin Islands has been affected by a wave coming from the north, northeast which has made it near impossible to dive on the north side of the island. The south side of the island is basically calm and in my opinion is where the best dives are anyway. Try Admiralty Dive...

Need dive shop recommendations for St. Thomas.

Correction - Blue Island's boat can take up to 15 and is larger than Admiralty's who can take up to 12. November is a high month, so I would be surprised if you were the only ones with them.

Any advice on diving in/around St. Thomas?

Admiralty Dive Center IS located in the Windward Passage and specializes on the many wrecks and reefs on the south south/west side of St. Thomas. Each charter (2 tank/2 location) usually does a wreck and a reef, giving the divers maximum bottom time and caters to their needs. They do not...
