This will be a world class event hosted at a site minutes from one of the busiest and least expensive international airports in North America, steps from the Atlantic Ocean in sunny South Florida. Come join us in Fort Lauderdale!

The online brochure has additional details but attendees are encouraged to register early and take advantage of the discounted hotel block.

Dive Rescue International will also conduct instructor updates for PSSIs and DRITs on Monday, Sept 19.

Public Safety Divers from twenty three states and two Canadian provinces are attending the International Public Safety Diver Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Twenty two companies will be showing their products and most products will be available for in-water pool demos and open water demos to the more than 120 participants (additional registrations are being received daily). Products include full face masks, surface supplied air systems, underwater communications, ROVs, SONARs, dry suits, diver propulsion vehicles, and more.

Participants will learn from public safety divers who will discuss how their teams receive grants and homeland security funds; attorneys who will discuss how agencies, instructors and dive team leaders should mitigate risks and increase diver safety using the latest public safety diving guidelines; a renowned physician who will discuss a public safety diving medical guideline that has received support from many in the medical and PSD community (5 of the 6 recent PSD line of duty deaths were caused by medical problems at depth). Others will discuss research on mitigating stress and increasing diver survivability through sound "stress inoculation" principals; the benefits of working closely with family members during an incident (they will become your team's strongest advocates); and more...

The conference program can be downloaded at: http://iadrs.org/media/2011 Conference Brochure.pdf
