Just registered and looking forward to exploring the forums. Am off to buy my first bit of kit soon (just a mask and snorkel) for a holiday in May when I will do my Advanced OW. Am thinking to try British waters in the summer - waiting for the next tropical holiday is always too long a break between dives. Need to get in the water more often !!!

Welcome! I lived in London for a year...but most Brits don't classify that as having really lived there! I did do lots of driving around the countryside...it was lovely!

Thanks all. Funny, you Texans saying hello - I've just come back from a trip to the US and spent a few days in Dallas. I only really got to see the downtown area, the JFK memorial. Dallas/Fort Worth is sooo huge! Delicious mexican food. Hooters was the first bar we found, so I took my girlfriend to watch a Cowboys game - heh, heh!). Outdoor World near the airport was ace. We got loads of trekking gear - US brands like The North Face so much cheaper than here in the UK.

Mr K. welcome on board. Good luck with your gear its an important decision. There are tons of opionions within the scubaboard and most of them good counsel. It has to fit and work for you..........and its nice lookin cool too! Let me know if we can lend a hand.
