All the Aeris have good battery life now. In the old days... like the 300G, yes it was true they ran through batts... but they used the 2032 batteries, and pushing a button could accidently backlight the computer in your dive bag. Now with the aeris, the backlight only works in dive mode, and they use a 2450 battery so the life is much better these days.
Sounds like the salesman was trying to reference a problem that is no longer there to push a product with a higher profit margin.... Or perhaps, he just doesn't know the changes that have happened in his products.
