HI All,

As said by another earlier today (to paraphrase) - I thought I should stop lurking and join up.

As my avatar suggests, I'm very interested in the physiology of diving (points if you know who that is). I teach recreational and technical diving in the San Diego area.

Pleasure to meet everyone.

Cheers,
Curt

Do you know the real definition of

Hi there, Curt.

Between mundane and special, I'll choose the latter.

But Happy does confuse me sometimes.

Thanks all!

What are some cool physiology of diving facts i should know?
As a medical peep i too am fascinated. 🤓

Where did you want us to begin?

First there are two types of divers: Those who pee in their wetsuits and those who lie about it. (It's why I avoid wet and dry suits).

There are a few rules of diving

#1 Never hold your breath.
#2 You can call a dive at any time, for any reason, and there's no imperative to explain yourself.
#3 Always look cool.
#4 Never, ever, under any circumstances, Google the Warhammer Manuveur

There are many iterations to these rules, most of which are simply another way of stating these rules.
