If your friends will be on the mainland with a car and not into every day diving, Chichen Itza and Ek Balam ruins might be a nice one day trip. You might suggest Can-do maps. Tulum & Coba ruins are south, but Tulum is a little overly manicured and Coba might be too wild for them.

Hello All,

This is Jim Young, owner of Aquanauts Dive shop in Puerto Aventuras.

I believe these are the folks that contacted my shop last week based on a recommendation from their local dive shop. They were concerned about the travel from their hotel to the shop, wanting to make sure the trip was worthwhile. Since none of my regular divers seem to be watching the forums right now, all I would suggest is for them to check us out on Trip advisor for what that is worth.

We are a small family run shop on the marina, here in Puerto Aventuras.
