I'm going to Belize in three weeks. I have all my own equipment, but I've lost my great Suunto Mosquito dive computer. Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near a dive shop, and I don't have time to order online.

So my question is, are the dive shops in Belize stocked with equipment, or do they mostly run just tours? If they are stocked, which ones have a good variety of equipment?

In short, no. Import duties are very high and unpredictable here, which means it's difficult to sell at competitive prices. Watches in particular carry an extra heavy duty. So best to reserve the local shops for emergency items, and plan on bringing everything you'll need with you.

As to not having time to buy on-line, of course you have. And I wouldn't get another Mosquito when this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=006&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=160030955313&rd=1&rd=1 is available cheaper. This is a true technical computer watch and a superb dive computer for all sorts of diving. I've used one for years and used to sell them - for US$500! $300 is amazing value.
