a dive boat about my previous dive which involved a huge whale shark in Galapagos...figured that was a pretty good opener in the 'can you top that' dive chat...

He listened politely and when quizzed about his most recent UW exploits, just quietly described a night HALO drop to blow something up with his SF group...

...uh, I see...I think I need to go change an o-ring or something...
 
The more you sweat in peace the less you bleed in war.

If you don't press to the limits and beyond in training then you may not live long enough to do so once the war starts.

Also, just because it is peace time and you are on an ordinary patrol doesn't mean you are not about to be on the receiving end of the first round of the next war.

Sometimes even top athletes die suddenly without warning.
