Hi there,
I am going to Atlantis in the Bahamas in Feb and was wondering if anyone can recommend shops to dive with. Prefer something close to the resort (if possible) but the right operation would make a longer drive worth wild.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Chris

PS- I am PADI Rescue and starting DM shortly.

Stuart Coves is on the other side of the island but they have a bus that will pick you up and return you. They are by far the best operator on the island. You won't be dissappointed. Can't imagine diving with anyone else on the island.

Stuart Cove's http://www.stuartcove.com/ now has a satellite op right at the Atlantis. They'll set everything up for you.

Cove's main shop, as well the two other major dive ops over on the SW of the island (Nassau Scuba Centre http://www.nassau-scuba-centre.com/ --recommended & Dive, Dive, Dive, Ltd--not recommended) also run free shuttle services to the Atlantis & back.

The other dive ops near the Atlantis, as well as the sites in the immediate area, are on balance not as good as the other side.

Have fun.

Listen to the good doctor he knows wherof he speaks. I would also recommend Stuart Cove's. They are a quality op and the best diving requires a little bus ride to the other side of the island. Make sure you do the shark dive. It is well worth the extra money. Don't forget to buy the video. It is a favorite at our house and great for scaring the pants off people who don't know about diving.

No doubt that the "shark video" makes people sit up straight in their seats! It is something to someday show the grand kids! Of course I've got a few years before we have any of those, but when we do they'll say Grandad has got "cohones"!
