Cool! In the 2nd pic it looks like he was on the menu himself.
We are thinking about doing the shark thing up on the north shore....would you recommend it???
The Shark Rodeo at Walker's is a very unique experience. (much different from things like the shark feeding they do in chain mail suits in Freeport). Let me describe:
1) Boat takes you to the site and then starts going in circles, revving the engine. They call this "Calling in the kids".
2) Once the sharks have come in for lunch, the divers quickly get into the water, descent and position near the reef.
3) When the dive master is sure everyone is OK he and his team lower a frozen chumsicle into the water. It is the size of a garbage can and is a collection of fish parts frozen in water with a hook and chain system.
4) The chumsicle is anchored to the bottom and the action begins.... sharks feeding like crazy.
5) When the last piece breaks off, the luck shark who has it takes off running with the rest after him (this is the rodeo part and it is pretty darn exciting).
6) Lots of sharks come back and just hang around for photos.
7) Great hunting for fresh sharks teeth under where the chumball was.
On Sunday when we were there about 30-40 sharks participated including Black Tip and Carribean Reef sharks and one nurse shark.
Lots of fun.
