Outcome of todays meeting summarised - Summary in English: Today, fifty residents of Bangka island had another dissapointment. After such an effort came to Manado to meet the NS police dept head, they couldn't meet him but his representative the North Minahasa police officer (Dirintel) Teddy Setyadi. He informed, the NS police dept head have an outside duty. In contrary, the local SBI team got different information that NS police dept head actually is in his office from several officers. Strange, wasn't it! The Bangka residents also spotted the existence of several MMP people around the police office. Another info heard also by SBI local team that the NS Forkopinda (the NS Governor, NS police dept head, the Dandim of Military commander) will visit Bangka island tomorrow. They are planning to have a field survaillance so the residents could directly send their report or any other documentation proofs.....it is just another bias scenario made by the authorities to fool the people but well read even by the illiterate. Because, for sure the authorities visitation will be located in Ehe (the basecamp of MMP). and What things are inviting them to go there? the People already know......just for another bias. OMG.

and the mining news has reached BBC! -http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-27478974

Additionally if anyone would like to visit Bangka in JUNE 14-15, please consider to join Coral Day action. They need scuba divers who would like to volunteer in underwater cleaning and coral transplant and coral-garden making through adoption program

Coral Day 2014 Volunteer | Coral Day KiTaBangGa

Coral adoption is also possible..just check the website :) PS: this movement also aimed to encounter that mining monster and social awareness of what happens to the island.. the fight against the mining is still continuing!

I will be at Lembeh Resort (Critters@Lembeh) from 26 July to 4 August and on Wingy's recommendation am planning a day trip to Bangka, hopefully this will still be possible

I've been told that nothing that happens with the mining operation this year, even if it continues all year, should affect the known dive sites at Bangka. And if the effort against it goes well, we can hope it won't continue next year.
