Has anyone been to the Blue Hole in New Mexico lately? We'd love to go soon if anyone is interested. It's 85 ft deep - crystal clear. It's about 64-68 degrees year round and an altitude dive.

I went last month and it was great. Early morning dives are best before classes get there and silt things up. Perch Lake is also a common dive spot. We might be going again in a few weeks.

I'd be interested, depending on the date & my schedule... I need a dry suit!!

I have never made the trek....a bit far from the DFW area....but sounds like a fun 'log book' type couple of dives.

I dove there and Perch Lake last weekend. Perch Lake is a chilly 55 degrees, but the visibility has opened up to around 30feet or so. The BH is pretty much the same as always .. around 62 degrees and if there is a crowd in the water then more than likely the vis will be around 15 feet or so... if you get to it on a day when no body is diving it then the vis is awesome. I've been in it when you could be at the bottom and see all the way across the bottom, basically crystal clear.

Few dives? Pfft. Try like 90 dives. :blinking:

You have dove the hole 90 times?!!

Yep... That's where LDS, that I divemaster with, does OW and portions of the AOW classes. And it's a convenient place to meet my Albuquerque and Denver dive buddies at. :) I'd like to dive Rock Lake more .. I only have 3 dives in it, but the owner is a ***** to get a hold of, so I go with a Denver shop when I can.

Yea I have have heard only tid bits about Rock....sounds like a sweet place to dive deep...maybe 270ffw if my info. is accurate,,,,but being privately owned I can see it being diff. to arrange.

PS--is this a diff. location than the Rock Lake State Hatchery site?
