Im looking to getting into Underwater Photography and want to start basic, as much as i would like a DSLR the price rules that out of the question. so im considering buying a Bonica Snapper XP camera with the strobe system. Are these good cameras, This is not for surface use, as i have a good olympus Digicam, but they dont make a houseing that goes deep enough. (its a Mju-mini and the houseing is rated to 3 meters) also i sent bonica an email, asking weather they shipped to Australia. im yet to get a reply. so if anyone know weather they do ship to australia that would be great.

Thanks

I would suggest something in the Canon line up or the Oly SP350 with the manufacturers housing to keep costs down.

Full manual control is very important underwater to get good results.

As far as i know the Bonica does not offer that.

There is a sticky here attached to Alcina's sig. Have a look for a post by Alcina and follow the link in her sig for some good tips and suggestions on cameras
