Bottom temp Key Largo to Key West

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year. Looking to book trip to Keys end of Jan. what kind of bottom temps can we expect?
3 mill full or 7 mil?

Expect water temps in the low 70s... possibly dipping into the high 60s, and dress accordingly.

I dive So Fla almost every year mid-Jan. You can find conditions at NOAA's National Data Buoy Center. The nearest thing for you is Molasses Reef, off Key Largo.

These buoys measure pretty close to the surface, but this area is not known for significant gradients top-to-bottom. The temp is usually 72-74F this time of year, but current reports put it more like 77-78F, almost balmy. Look for it to get a little colder before your trip.

I usually wear a 5mm jump suit and have a hood available. But I'm a cold-water wimp.

I was off of Key Largo on Friday, and the temp was 79! Nothing but a bathing suit under my gear.

Hello from Marathon. Bottom temps at 80 - 100 ft. past week have varied with current & tide between 81 and 76 degrees. The stream has meandered within 4 miles at times. Hard South wind.

100 foot bottom temps? Wow that hot, i mean long, no i mean hot!! Naa just kiddin' Rich i know what ya' meant! I believe Jan is expected to be rather cold in FL (considering) and thus might effect the water temps down there. Id take a few different exposure suits just in case. Have fun!!!!
