Let your buddy try your second stage. If it doesn't work for them, have it checked by a tech. If it works for them try the above responses. I use a 380 for my octo and it breathes great.

Alot of good suggestions, this is what I'm going to do:
  • Find a nice diving club with their own swimming pool in which I can practise (preferably as deep a swimming pool I can find).
  • Try my octo, and maybe try a 2nd stage from someone else.
  • Let someone else try my 2nd stage.
  • I'll try the trick of saying 'aaaah' while exhaling.
If this does not give me much improvement, I'll visit the pool regularly until the problem is gone. I'm pretty excited whenever I jump into the sea, so yeah, experience might solve it.

Most important thing is that you've convinced me that this will be solved some day... I love diving, but hate this lil handycap; it's annoying and often gives me a slight headache.
