Haven't dived since Sunday night (although I plan a night dive tonight). Visibility was reported at 60 ft yesterday with beautiful blue water. Hope that holds. Weather is looking good.

Thanks Dr. Bill! I had a feeling (was hoping :D) you'd answer! So the island blocks the higher surf and surge we've been having on the mainland I suppose.

Yes, it does. Watch out for periods when the tide peaks or troughs. Conditions were absolutely AWESOME at Descanso yesterday when I did the water monitoring so I grabbed my gear and went to the park to do two dives. Vis got blown out when the tide turned due to current and surge, so my two dives were less than awesome (but still fun!). Instructor friends reported that after I got out, the good vis returned. Moral of the story: don't dive if I'm in the water! Also did a night dive last night and current was running again... kelp draped over the reef tops I had wanted to film on.
