Al Mialkovsky:
Well that clorine can do more damage than is alluded to here. I have a pool only BCD and it's pretty much falling apart now.

After how long and how many dives?

I'm a little surprized that you said your gear is falling apart. I've used the same BCD, reg set-up, fins, wet-suit for at least 5 years and no problem. The piece of gear that took the biggest hit was my booties, man you could smell them across the room:confused: , and I always dried them with a fan.

So from what I can see, pool water is no big deal.........

For The regular diver who just wants to get some bubble time in the pool the chlorine will not be a big deal, but for an instructor who spends many sessions in the pool the chlorine does a number on the BC and wet suit. I am with Al on this one, my pool BC is falling apart. I advise my instructor candidates that if they have a nice BC that they are absolutly in love with they may want to break out there old one or puchase a base model for pool work.
