I have the Akona Big roller duffel cant remember the model off hand but it is the biggest one they make. They make quality stuff but for my money for a boat bag fro stuff that I want to keep dry I will use a med. sized dry bag. I have used a backpack on the boats before but everything will get damp from wet people/gear unerringly dripping on it.

Just my 2 cents but go with a big bag for your primary gear bag and a smaller dry bag for your clothes logbook camera and stuff like that.

For my boat, beach, and pool bag I love this mesh combination duffle backpack bag from Armor.

It’s one of the more comfortable backpack style bags for carrying heavy loads a distance, but it has a full length zipper on the side in addition to the top drawstring opening so it’s as easy to get things in and out of as a duffle style bag. For traveling this bag folds down small enough to pack around your gear in your travel bag.

For a true travel bag I use a large roller bag that also has shoulder straps hidden away for those trips over the rocks to the island getaway.

just my $0.02

features that i've found i like

1. has wheels so it's easy to get from the car to the boat / beach
2. zipper opens in a big "U" shape, not just a straight line. makes it MUCH easier to get stuff in and out of the bag.
3. mesh is PVC-coated. toting around a normal mesh bag will make the sides of your legs look like you just fell off a motorcycle and covered in roadRash!
4. those knapSack type bags suck if you want something at the bottom of the bag... ya gotta empty the dang thing to get at it.... in this bag, everything is much more accessible.
5. no goofy looking diveFlag emblem on the end.
