I envy you the close encounters. I loved my trip to the Galapagos; the scalloped hammerheads were stand-offish. I wished the vis. were more like Cozumel, because the waters were teeming with life at times. I recall hammerheads seem to have a rep. for being more skittish than some other sharks; wonder why that is?

I wonder the same. They are as big as us. They do have a blind spot right in front and might get surprises with bubbles, light, movement right at their blind spot.
