Vladimir - lucky @##@%#!! I guess we were in the unlucky panga! The second panga got a nice whale shark encounter at Dos Amigos and a Galapagos Shark. We did get escorted by dolphins on the way out to the Island but they didn't come in close to bow surf. Baitballs and Silky Sharks!!! Gaaah, I would die to see that. We did have one big manta swim close to the boat to feed on the surface when we were moored but it was scoot away anytime we tried to slip into the water to snorkel with it.

But next time, I'll be looking to use one of the Hunter boats... More on that in my trip report...
We were lucky--the divemasters told us we had unusually good diving. My photographic skills are not up to your level, and though I got a few I like, I squandered some great opportunities. We snorkeled the baitball, and I think it was the only time I have ever been worried about shark attack. There were 20 silkies within 3 meters of me, yellowfin tuna zipping by at amazing speed, a pod of dolphins, Galapagos sharks and blacktips.

If you have any questions about Undersea Hunter, PM me.

I don't even need to dive, just live vicariously through you.

Thank you for sharing those!

I'll send you my paypal address so you can contribute to my diving funds... :joke:

Steve, you know Cocos is a long swim from Galapagos right? Without getting out the Google earth, I'm guessing 1000 miles.
:D

I guess I had better bring a good water proof book then :D . No matter, both are now on my list of must dives.

Wow ... that's just fantastic video. To me, the so-so viz and darkish water seem to add a bit of mystery to those shots of schools of sharks. I wanna go!

Out of sheer curiousity here...

Why DivX?

-P

know of any other free online site that allows uploading and sharing of large high resolution videos?

I mean why the DivX codec. Or do they require that for placing video on their site? Kinda like Youtube and flash...
