In the past several days I’ve visited a few more of my favorite local sites for the first time since Irma shook up our little corner of the world.

Tenneco Towers shallow and middle; Both unscathed structurally, and holding most of their encrustation. Shallow site was covered with sand and silt, while the middle site was cleaner in comparison.

Doc de Milley: About 25 miles south of Government Cut, and a site that though I relish, is one that I only get to dive a few times a year: Bow section is a bit more broken up, and moved several yards from the stern. Stern is now listing more markedly to the starboard. I was first one in and diving a CCR, so am the only one who got to visit with as large a Goliath Grouper as I could hope to see. Arrival of bubble blowers caused the GG move away. Coral encrustation looked quite healthy, but lots of the sponges have been broken or sheared away.

In the last two weeks i went to the United Caribbean and the Sea Emperor wrecks....both were relatively unchanged since hurricane Irma except for some sand rearrangement. the rock pile between the two remain unchanged and in place...this week the RSB-1 wreck is on the agenda.

I have long been intrigued by hurricane related wave and current impacts on sunken ships, even those in deep water. Andrew did quite a number on quite a few wrecks as many of us may remember. I just wrote a quick summary on the remarkable righting of the Spiegel Grove by distant hurricane Dennis in 2005 at: http://fksa.org/showthread.php?p=52122#post52122

i dove the Ms. Lourdes / Miracle of life wreck yesterday.(April 1 2018).....checked my dive log and found that it is a little deeper than before the Hurricane Irma...went to the sand at 147fsw....so it must have been push out a little further.
