Did a 123 min. CCR Dive in Ginnie Springs on Tues. By Tues night, I had considerable swelling in my "girls". Wed morning the "girls" were considerably more swollen. Called DAN & was told to get to the Valdosta hospital. I wound up taking a 5 hr schedule 6 chamber ride. While doing labs for the chamber, it was found that I am diabetic. It runs heavy in my family,.... It was only a matter of time. Bad news, was needed to be known. Dr. Thinks hit was from dehydration due to the diabetes. Look like some serious lifestyle changes are in the future.

Tammy, sorry to hear about the hit. It coulda been much worse. I had to chuckle a bit at the swollen girls comment, most people gotta pay extra for that. Glad you are ok and hope you will be able to continue cave diving.

Sounds like a business opportunity to me. Non surgical breast augmentation. Sure, there may be some side effects, but what medical procedure or drug does not have some these days. Hell, they advertise drugs on TV where death may be a side effect, right?

Seriously, best of luck in your recovery.

Best of luck on a speedy recovery!

I'm really glad you are on your way to a full recovery and I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions. Obviously, you aren't required to answer any of them, and if you do, feel free to post them here or in a PM/Conversation.
  • What was your Gradient factor? I'm running the default one (70/30) and I want to know if I should consider making it a bit more cautious.
  • Were there any other factors, other than being dehydrated, that you can think of? Quick ascent, bail out, etc???
  • Would you be willing to show us your profile?
  • How long do you think you will you be out of diving?
[/putting Tammy on the spot] I can't say it enough, but I really, really hope you heal quickly. You may not realize it, but there was a DCS incident on a rebreather on 3/31/2016 that resulted in the diver's demise. This shouldn't be confused with the heart attack that happened on April 2 that's getting a lot of attention. Few are talking about this. Diving accidents happen and the more we know about them the more we can protect ourselves from the vagaries of pressure. I hope you don't mind me putting you on the spot like this. Feel free to bop me the next time you see me!

I really hope you typed this wrong. Your deco time must be measured in days instead of hours

I might have... it's whatever is the default on the device. I'll go check it in a bit. What factor do you dive?

Definitely not the 30/70 that you do. Mine is much more aggressive.
