You're right that Viagra is sold on the street for other uses, but in the case of tramadol it's street use is for its mind altering effects.

Hi Hatul,

So you agree that "Just because a drug is abused on the street doesn't automatically mean that it acts on the central nervous system" and rather than "Tramadol is a known street abused drug, which means it has a central effect on mentation," you meant "Tramadol is a known street drug abused is for its mind altering effects"?

DAN basically said they wouldn't recommend diving while using Tramadol because of all the reasons you all have already listed! I have a 10 page paper due for school on Monday so I need to go, but I will post their full response later.

Yes you're correct.

The other drug he's taking, the ibuprofen, is a peripherally acting drug and should have no effect on diving. I was concerned he may be taking a very large dose, but rereading the posts he mentioned 800mg per day which is not a high dose.

I have had to take Tramadol for a few years (100 mg daily) not a high dose, but I haven't noticed any issues while diving. I tried to pay close attention to any different feelings while diving. (ie dizziness, nausea etc) But all was fine.
However that is just my experience and I never dove deeper than 60 - 65 feet while on it too. So with only 2 atmospheres max perhaps that could also be why I felt fine.
