I did read where John Bennet went to 833' on scuba for his "world record ocean dive".
 
I find it silly to dive to a depth of 1000'.

All the interensting physiological data that could be collected on humans under that pressure can be obtained in a hyperbaric chamber.

It functions only as a marketing stunt by the equipment manufacutures and grandstanding by the individual doing it.

These types of attempts have killed many people.
