I have to disagree with most of the other answers, but then I had a Great Instructor.
I learned a lot in my DM class, and while I never plan on really "working" as a DM I do ocassionally take a 1/2 day job with the OP I trained with. (3 times in 5 months). It really makes you look at things from a different perspective.
If traveling & diving with a boat I haven't used before, I would check in with my AOW card or maybe rescue.
