First time in the water in these parts. (solo dive) I saw a scorpionfish, three snails, a seahorse and farther out plenty of seaweed and running amongst it, unknown silver fish... I made it out to 14' depth but picked a terrible time to be in the water. The visibility got worse and I came to a spot where there was a lot of seaweed and it seemed to dip down deeper, there was a very large shadow that I couldn't identify but could just make out every now and again. I got out of the water fast! Diving at feeding time...:shocked2: EDT 40 minutes.

Found nice 1" mako, but, wasnt looking for teeth , mostly taking in aquatic reef fish, lots of fossil whale bones, had I not been so distracted by reef probably would have found teeth, CApt called this 3 tooth reef , I guess you only find 3 teeth and spend too much time looking at fish and corals

first time on charter , capt did great job putting us on a unique venice reef, saw lots of different hard corals and shelf harbouring tropicals, very unusual this time of year to see butterfly fish and blue and yellow damsels.

Today
Location Alahambra
Temp 66
Viz 6' to 8' around blocks.....0 to nothing at 17'
Dive time 72 mins
Took my son out to look at new reef, saw a few small grouper, star fish....found quite a few teeth. We started to go farther out but the viz got so bad it was even hard to read a compass so we came back to the blocks and finished exploring there. The only bad thing is when we surfaced to come out we discovered we were just pulling around a stick with a float! Our flag came off somewhere out there!
