I have never dove off the beaches of LA! :11: Unbelievable!

If I'm shore diving I usually stick around Laguna or head down to San Diego. Well, next Friday (5/2) I'm going to play hookie with some friends and hopefully hit the water. We want to dive off LA, where should we go?

Hmmmmm....I'm thinking the La Brea Tar Pits is a no-go; viz is probably horrible there...

Well it would be nice and warm! Viz wasn't that great in the water last weekend either and it was much colder.

Drive up the coast to Malibu; easy access and shallow dives - Big Rock, G-City, Malibu Road or Deer Creek (Ventura).

Or go for the gravy and dive Point Dume :)

Leo Carillo and Nicholas Canyon, Malibu coastline close to Ventu Co line.

Thanks for all of the recommendation! I'm so looking forward to getting into LA's waters!

You can get deep off Redondo Beach and there are a couple of wrecks out there some where. Sort of like La Jolla.
