Hey guys, if you want to really learn diving, do it somewhere cold. I learned where the water was 38 or 40 degrees F. No dry suits for us. I did not use a BC, either. My first trip to the Keys was in 1977 and it felt like a naked frolic. I'm too old for the cold stuff now.

Anyhow Jay, it was 76 degrees off Jupiter FL on Saturday. Most of us use 3mm suits, so you don't need a super heavy lift BC to join us. With the Scuba Toys set, you would be outfitted like most of the rest of us. Photography or spear fishing was the activity for this group.

If real cold water, or depths below 150 are in your near future, I can't render you advice. I'll let those activities remain things of my past.

Happy diving!
