My wife takes Levothyroxin For her thyroid condition. Is there any risks diving while using this medication?

Thank you for your time,

The important thing with thyroid medication is to get the dosage right. If she has recently been started on the meds, she should probably avoid diving until she has stabilized on the correct dose. Overdosage of thyroid medication can cause anxiety and even cardiac arrhythmias; underdosage can make people slow and easily fatigued. Once the dosage has been figured out (and it's different from patient to patient) the medication should have no implications for diving at all.

Thank you very much for the info. You have responded to a few of my questions here on SB, I really do appreciate you taking time out of your day to help keep this sport as safe as possible.

Thanks again for your time,
