DM Training and DM Insurance Costs

No. You only need to pay for the years you are active. However as was said earlier if you get sued for something during one of those years you were not covered and you were acting as a DM in ANY capacity you are screwed.
 
If I take the class and get certified, but I never actually work as a DM, will I still need insurance?

Nope..just pay annual dues to keep rating active..if you lapse for a determined length of time (?)you may have issues come renewal time.Standards/procedures change over time and if you lapse the training agency wants to be assured that you are aware of them.

Not to hijack the thread but how much is Instructor Insurance running now? I am getting my instructor cert and wanted to start figuring out insurance prices. Thanks in advanced.

$497.33 last year for Witherspoon, I think V & B is about $580. I only know Witherspoon because I have a copy sitting on my desk right now :wink:
