Dry suit inflation valves interference with BCD fit/straps? Esp "off center" ??

Hadn't thought about it until just now, but does the location of the inflation valve of a dry suit ever cause difficulties with BCD straps?

I'm assuming it's OK if the valve sits under a strap, no?

I wouldn't want to fuss with a valve under a strap, so IMO no it's not OK. That would also put the QD in a bad spot to remove in the case of a runaway inflator valve.

I have never actually seen this type of problem.
But I would assume this might be a problem for different reasons.
1. if a strap runs over inflation valve you would have a hard time accessing it
2. also the strap may apply enough pressure to inflate the suit when your not expecting.
This being said I think this senario is very unlikely, if you have a dry suit made by anybody who knows anything about scuba this should never occur.

I actually have this problem quite often with mine. I have to leave the upper strap a little loose in order for it to go around the inflator valve. I personally have never had a problem with it, but on most occasions I just have to move the strap slightly to access the inflator valve. I do have the valve turned so that my connector comes more from below in case I ever needed to quickly disconnect it, the strap is never in the way. I have not found it a big deal to dive with though....
