Looking for images of salvagers near the turn of the last century or earlier looking for "deep" water wrecks. I saw an old glass plate negative of a device that had 10 grapples on it and was used to check underwater telegraph wires taken in the 1890s.

Does anyone have photos to share or point to a source that may have them?
