WDCS NA - 120 Pilot Whales Killed In The Faroe Islands

Continuing a cruel and inhumane practice simply because it's been done in the past is not only ridiculous, it's completely without merit. Where is the advancement of human culture and understanding of the impact we have on the planet in events such as this? Disgusting!

It's all interconnected. Man plants different trees on an island, fewer birds roost, less droppings from birds, less phytoplankton for the manta rays and therefore, fewer manta rays.....interesting and short article on how this is occurring.

This is an excellent article. The last line brings up the old argument - "Jobs or the Environment..." this is a false choice. We MUST take care of the environment. Without a healthy planet, we will not need jobs as we won't be here.

It looks like Arctic Drilling is about to become a reality. I call this Profits now against a living planet later. The idea that we can simply rape the planet until all the resources are gone and the levels of pollution unmanageable is so short sighted that it makes me physically ill. The world needs to wake up and understand that today's profit, taken out against the health of the planet, is helping ensure there will be no future for mankind. We MUST change our ways! It is not only a moral imperative, it is a survival imperative! - Please share!
