There has been a big controversy on shark dives with pros and cons on the situation How do you all feel on this matter.

One that the feeding of sharks gives us a better understanding of the species and their habits and should be allowed.

or That the feeding of sharks has increased attacks because they are now associating food with humans.

Cher,
I've been on 2 shark feeding dives, which I enjoyed. I think it they do help us to understand the behavior a bit better- at least I feel a bit more "at ease" when I encounter a shark (species dependent, of course). I do have some concern about both the long range effects, if any, and the warnings raised by the " no feedings" folks.
I also believe that , as with many things, how it is done matters as much as if it is done.
I guess you could say that I'm a "definite maybe" on this issue- I think it needs to be looked at in greater detail.

cherinere,
A little while back there was an active thread on this very subject. Actually, there were two! Very interesting reading as the opinions fluctuate! Have A look see, when you have the chance:
Scuba Board > General Scuba > Basic Scuba Discussions > SHARK FEEDING BANNED IN FLORIDA... (I think NETDOC started that one).
