Tiputa Pass in Rangiroa is an advanced drift dive. It's amazing, if you are up for it. And it's a nice little island to visit.

Fakarava is great as well.

The other islands are iffy. If you want soft coral, lots of beautiful colors, Fiji is probably a lot better.

Hmm...

Not in my experience. Manihi has mantas at a couple of different clearning stations (more consistent than several of the more well known spots in Indonesia). Rotorua is amazing for the whales (better than Moorea, but a little harder to get to). You can consistently dive with Tiger Sharks off of the main island.

Fiji is better for coral reef and diversity of fish, French Polynesia is absolutely better for big animal encounters.
