Were is the picture of the great northern red anemone. Thats why I go back. I love seeing those things.

I have only done two dives at Folly thus far. The photos above were taken this past Saturday the 2nd of July. Lovely day. Water is warmimg up. 61 degrees at 28 feet. My wife thinks Folly Cove rivals Catalina Island at Casino Point. I almost agree with her. The main reason people love Folly (I think) is that it's hard to see vibrant color and plentiful life while diving in cold water from the shore. Folly never fails to give variety and color, not to mention pretty consistant weather. Hey, it's not Bonaire but it's closer and cheaper! Nonetheless, it beats the stink out of Fort Wetherill or King's Beach in RI.

Porcupine fish at Folly?

On one of my dives there this year I saw a fat balloon like fish with big eyes. Didn't get such a great look at it but after looking through some fish id books I think it could have been a porcupine fish:

But I always thought porcupine fish was a tropical fish. It could have been something else like puffer fish, but think these are warm water fish too. Anyone seen anything like it at Folly?

I've seen what I believe to be a Wolf Fish there which kinda, sorta looks similar.... except different.

Nah, it wasn't a wolf fish. I see them all the time on south-east side of cape ann (2-3 feet usually). I saw a huge one the other day, 4-5 feet or more, no kidding, on the right of pebble (hedge beach I think it's called?) Closest thing to a shark you can find on Cape Ann, in my opinion. And it was right at the start of the reef so people swim right above it at low tide. Scary!
