Greetings,

in this video (@2:45) the diver is using a noseclip to help him equalize his ears handsfree.

If anyone has any experience with this, how does he equalize the airspace in his mask?

Thanks.

The guys that are diving to serious depths either have no mask or use fluid goggles where there is no air space in front of the eyes as they fell them with water (they have special lenses to help correct the problems caused by there not being any air in front of the eye ball). If you look at the latest videos of William Trubridge you should see that he is diving with no mask / goggles.

The guy in the video seemed to have no ability to equalise his mask. I guess the mask itself must have been flexible enough to cope with the pressure change (even though it didn't look like it)

Most likely they are the kind of goggles that are not watertight and fill with water, AKA no air space to equalize, which are fitted with corrective lenses to give back some ability to see in focus.
