Before you invest in any new wetsuit, I would wait a couple of months. El Nino is in the Galapagos, so water temps are warmer than usual. No one knows how long it will last. At Darwin and Wolf, temps are running between 28 and 34C (82 and 93 F) with one report of 37 C (98.6 F). In the central islands, they're also above average with temps averaging 77F.

A DM told me he and a friend did an Isabela dive without wetsuits...Isabela is normally 72 F with thermoclines around 50F.

The water is 98.6 and someone was complaining about a broken hot tub?

There is not such thing as semi dry wetsuit. Its either Dry or Wet.

Well, I've dived both wet suits and semi-dry suits. The semi-dry has wrist and ankle seals so it doesn't exchange water as readily as a standard wet suit. That makes the semi-dry warmer.

It's funny -- I got in the water, once, when I had to pee while I was wearing my semi-dry. The suit stayed dry for a few agonizing minutes before I pulled my neck seal to flood the suit. TMI, I know, but indicative of the nature of the semi-dry.
