The spring Great Lakes Wrecking Crew Meet and Greet is May 4-6th, 2018 at Gilboa Quarry.
With the recent threads about divers looking for dive buddies, this is a great opportunity to meet midwest local divers. It is at these events that Great Lakes dive trips get planned and dive buddy relationships get formed. Its always a great time!
Friday:
Most show up and setup camp and get a few dives in. The end turnaround section at the quarry is reserved for the group and we have a campfire/bonfire there in the evening. Bring food to grill over the campfire and enjoy and evening of dive talk and antics.
Saturday:
This is the main event day. Diving happens all day long. If you are looking to get in on a dive, hang out around the campfire and ask or jump in on one of the group dives. We have a potluck on Saturday afternoon that starts around 1pm that lasts into the evening. Bring something to share with the group. Many of the recipes posted in one of the main forum threads come from these outings.
Again the group has a campfire going all day for divers to warm up around and a fire at night to relax and tell long diving tales. When you register in the office, please consider donating to the wood fund. Mike (the owner) gives us a great deal on the wood for the weekend and we need to make sure collectively we raise enough money to cover the expense.
Sunday:
Many divers get up in the morning and get a few dives in. Typically the group starts to break up by noon on Sunday, however, there are always die hard divers who spend the day enjoying getting wet.
We hope to see you at the Spring Great Lakes Wrecking Crew Meet and Greet!
