Hi, just bought a hero 3 black (not the new model) and have just connected it to my iphone 5s. The preview lags by around 4/5 seconds is this normal or do i need to adjust some settings somewhere?

It is normal. No adjustments.

I just saw that the hero3+ lag time is about 1 sec. To bad this info is not more easily available so we could make better decisions as to which on to buy. Maybe you would have gotten the 3+.

It's is a shame but for setting up a shot it does the job! I think for the uses this camera has, you don’t need realtime monitoring any way. Just the ability to set that shot up and monitor it remotely with no cable is pretty cool for a free add-on.
